Bredbury attractions
Arden Hall was built in 1597, although now lies in ruins. The most famous of Bredbury’s halls, Oliver Cromwell was rumoured to have stayed here. The hall is also said to have been the scene of a legendary battle between the cavaliers and roundheads. Although there is no evidence of either of these events, a nearby road is named Battle Lane
